Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Durghtana Sahayta Yojana: The Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Durghtana Sahayta Yojana, launched in 2017, is a state-level welfare scheme under the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment of the Haryana government. It provides financial assistance of Rs. 100,000/- to individuals aged between 18 and 70 who have suffered accidental death or disability and are not registered under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY).
This scheme applies only to permanent residents of Haryana residing in the state. The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment implements the scheme.

Eligibility for Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee Durghtana Sahayta Yojana
Permanent resident of Haryana State accident beneficiaries. People must apply to claim within 6 months of the date of death or within 12 months of the date of the accident. Any claim submitted more than 6 months after the date of death or 12 months after the date of disability will not be considered. Cases covered under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana will not be covered under this scheme.
Accidents under the Scheme
Under this scheme, financial support will be provided by the state government in the event of any disability or death caused by railway, road, or air accidents, as well as incidents such as riots, strikes, terrorism, and others. In addition, assistance will be given for incidents such as snake bites, drowning, electric shocks, falls from heights, falls from houses or buildings, burns from fire, explosions, murder, animal attacks, being trampled or suffocation, death due to snowfall, lightning strikes, starvation, or maternal death during childbirth. The state government will provide financial aid for all these types of accidents.
Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee Durghtana Sahayta Yojana: Benefits
Under the Accident Assistance Scheme of Haryana, if a person dies due to an accident, their family will be given ₹1 lakh. All people aged 18 to 70 can avail themselves of the benefits of this scheme. Additionally, the person must apply for the claim within 6 months of death or within 12 months of the date of the accident. No premium needs to be paid for the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Durghatana Sahayata Scheme.
